BLFS: nfs-utils-0.2 will not compile; rpmisc.o:218 ...

I am still trying to get my NFS client going on my LFS machine. When I try to compile the nfs-utils-0.2, I get errors refering to the file rpcmisc.c at several lines, 218 on down.

What could be going wrong?

What is the error message it displays?

Here is the error output:

rpcmisc.c: In function `rpc_logcall':
rpcmisc.c:218: warning: implicit declaration of function `localtime'
rpcmisc.c:218: warning: assignment makes pointer from integer without a cast
rpcmisc.c:220: dereferencing pointer to incomplete type
rpcmisc.c:220: dereferencing pointer to incomplete type
rpcmisc.c:220: dereferencing pointer to incomplete type
rpcmisc.c:221: dereferencing pointer to incomplete type
rpcmisc.c:221: dereferencing pointer to incomplete type
rpcmisc.c:221: dereferencing pointer to incomplete type
make[2]: *** [rpcmisc.o] Error 1
make[1]: *** [all] Error 2
make: *** [all] Error 2

Note my other post about NFS. It turns out that the mount is now working, but the /etc/rc.d/init.d/nfsclient script is not running at boot. If I run it manually, I can mount remote directories. But, I get the following errors when I run that script manually:

./nfsclient: /usr/bin/sleep: No such file or directory
./nfsclient: /usr/sbin/rpc.statd: No such file or directory

My first suspicion is that these are what is missing from the programs from this bad compile.

Isn't there some program you have to run to get a script going in that directory? Or is everything in there just run automatically? At the NFS hints no such preparation was mentioned:

Thanks! Yes, that seemed to do it.

In summary, the correction is to open the support/nfs/rpcmisc.c file in the nfs-utils build directory with an editor and add the line "#includes <time.h>" to the list of includes.
