BLFS - How can I install cinnamon desktop on LFS?

The issue is the following, I'm very used to KDE, since a short time I tried Linux Mint with the Cinnamon Desktop and loved it. Now that I just finished BLFS and i saw a lot of desktops options but no Cinnamon.. I discovered that Cinnamon is a fork of Gnome, don't know which version exactly(i think gnome 3.x). the problem is that i don't find any manual or documentation explaining how can i compile cinnamon from the source, to be honest i couldn't find Cinnamon's source... I'm getting nuts...

Do I have to build Gnome from the source first?

I see .deb packages of it every where, is it exclusive for Debian based distros??

Dos anyone know or tried it already?

Thanks and regards

B

Gnome is here:http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/blfs...ome/gnome.html

You may have to add stuff from linux mint ( if cinamon is a fork of gnome ) gnome has a LOT of dependencies so this may take a while, if you need the sources for cinnamon from linux mint try asking on their forums/mail lists.

You may also like to have a look at this:http://gnomeslackbuild.org/ although this is for slackware it will give you a good idea about building gnome from scratch it also has all the source code.

Thank you for the hint...

I was also wondering if this is possible on slackware... it seems that http://gnomeslackbuild.org/ not maintained for a couple of months... anyway i wil give it a try and see the results :-)
