BLFS - acl-2.2.52 , users bin and daemon

The doc says "Additionally, the users bin and daemon must be created or modified to have a proper shell and home directory" but doesn't explain how, do I just modify passwd file and group file and add the directories for those users?

Bit confused there.

This seems very odd as bin and deamon are system users and don't usually have either a shell or a home directory, I know it says to do this in the docs, but personally I wouldn't.

The home dirs for these are actually /bin an /sbin in slackware, but on mine are set to /dev/null

If you read carefully that's part of the tests.

ACL is only setup using the fstab entries for EXT based file systems. If you use other file systems like JFS, ACL controls are automatic.

I'm, using ext4, there was 4 fails in the first test. Do I need to worry about acl?

P.S. After rereading the docs again and goggling a bit I think I understand it now.

acl failing tests isn't a problem. If you assign the attribute handles to your EXT4 partition in fstab that's all you need to do.
