Hi Any linux distro will work as long as it is made compliant check host system chapter. I have used Debain as a live cd there is a link in my signature
Wont i need to install extra packages if i use debian? Is it just like lfs livecd?
I ran the host requirement script from book on unbuntu precise. It hit a lot of 'not found'. Is there any OS in comparision with lfs livecd?
I use ubuntu yes it dose require extras they are all in the package manager as far as i know you will have to add to most distros, why is that a problem?
Its not a problem, but interested to know best os similar to lfs livecd. Thats focused more of development and optimal utilization of resources for faster compiling. Most current OS seem pretty loaded with UI features, which are unnecessary for building lfs.
