Bash 3.2 installation error

I am in section 5.14 in LFS book 6.3. When i try to build it , here is the error message I get

checking for char... yes
checking size of char... configure: error: cannot compute sizeof (char), 77
See `config.log' for more details.

Have you read section 1.5 of the LFS book? Did you do what the configure script told you to do (i.e., see config.log)?

Yes but it of no help
I tried to compile this code

Code:

int main()
{
     sizeof(char);
     return 0;
}

However the program exits with exit code 1

What program was the configure script attempting to compile when it failed? That information and the reason it failed will be found in the config.log. Just search for the term 'error' in config.log and you should find it.
