An installer for my FLS build?

Hello everyone,

Well I got started on my first LFS build, but I have not been able to find any info on how to put together an install disk/CD that will install my LFS build onto a fresh system.

Thanks.

There is a good chance you will have to write an installer your self. You may be able to modify one of the installers used by the other big distros like Anaconda (Red Hat/Fedora/CentOS) or Debian Installer (Debian/Ubuntu Alt. CD). Or you can be very crude with it and use Ghost for Linux (http://sourceforge.net/projects/g4l) to clone the install so you can install it on other computers.

Thanks. I would rather have an actuall installer like Anaconda rather than using an imaging tools like ghost. Thanks for the help. I guess I will take a look at Anaconda and see how it installs Red Hat/Fedora/CentOS.

Thanks again.

You can also checkout the ubuquiti installer at: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Ubiquity or the Slackware Installer system. Anaconda has been used by several distros and is rather easy to incorporate. Docs are here: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Anaconda/BuildDocProject

And although I haven't had a chance to check it out yet, for those who want a package manager in GUI there's http://sourceforge.net/projects/slackins/
