64 bit Live CD problems...
HI all,
live disc boots fine. I knew something was off, when i noticed the file size for the x86_64 disc was 180-ish MB's and the other iso's were 350 and up.
Unfettered, i downloaded and burned, but i don't have X.org at all on the system. many of the packages that the README file mentioned didn't exist. Even the html version of LFS wasn't in any directory, to be found.
All this to say, the book mentions i should use debian or redhat to start, or the live CD. I want a pure 64 bit os, and would like anyone who has done so in the past, to tell me how they started? with debian or the Live CD?? what one works well? I'd love to get a base system started (64 bit of course) and add conary as my package manager. I don't like REd hat really, so i'd love to honestly make my linux from scratch... i.e. all source. help!
