6.7. Linux-2.6.35.4 API Headers

I have just prepared and entered the chroot environment. The current directory is /

Do I need to begin unpackaging from the /sources directory as I did in Chapter 5 because it doesn't say that anywhere on this page or at the beginning of the chapter?

Hi,

The book does assume you unpacked the tarball and are standing in the newly created directory (at the bottom).

In chapter 5 the sources directory is $LFS/sources, once you enter the chrooted environment (chapter 6) the $LFS part isn't needed anymore (mentioned here).

In short: Yes

Hope this helps.

Thank you, I suspected as much but given that it was a new chapter with a new directory structure (that no longer was using LFS, $LFS or /mnt/lfs). I figured it was best to confirm my assumption before I got started.
