Smile 6.17.1. Installation of GCC - make -k check error

i'm following LFS-BOOK-7.1 and host system is Slackware 13.37
i believe that everything is ok till i reached step 6.17.1 for installation of gcc and i have problems when run the test suite for gcc,,,
Quote:
target `check` not remade because of errors
some of the tests fails like
Quote:
FAIL:22_locale/messages/members/char/2.cc execution test
FAIL:22_locale/messages/members/char/wrapped-env.cc execution test
FAIL:22_locale/messages/members/char/wrapped.local.cc execution test
Quote:
FAIL: libmudflap.c/pass49-frag.c (-02) execution test
....
....
....
i made this step from the beginning again but i got the same errors !
i don't know if i messed something before ,, but i thnk that all previous steps are just fine. any idea !!!!
EDIT: should i continue with the following step or something is wrong and must be fixed before
thanks in advance

Hi,

The book mentions this:
Quote:
A few unexpected failures cannot always be avoided. The GCC developers are usually aware of these issues, but have not resolved them yet. In particular, the libmudflap tests are known to be particularly problematic as a result of a bug in GCC (http://gcc.gnu.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=20003). Unless the test results are vastly different from those at the above URL, it is safe to continue.
Did you compare your results with the results mentioned (http://www.linuxfromscratch.org/lfs/build-logs/7.1/ and http://gcc.gnu.org/ml/gcc-testresults/)?

The above should take care of the libmudflap parts, that leaves you with these:
Quote:
=== libstdc++ Summary ===

# of expected passes 8198
# of unexpected failures 3
# of expected failures 84
# of unsupported tests 161
Without knowing what caused the errors it is hard to advise you one way or the other.

No unexpected failures are mentioned in the build logs (see the aforementioned URL), but if these are time-out related you can probably ignore them.

Hope this helps.
