Another thing to try is to exit chroot, unmount the virtual filesystems, and do those steps to mount the virtual filesystems and enter chroot again (6.2.2, 6.2.3, 6.4). Maybe you botched that the first time. Anyway, pay attention to what happens when you mount devpts.
