5.7. Adjusting the Toolchain LFS.6.3 need help


i'm a newbie in linux and i am using LFS 6.3 live CD
i got stuck at "5.7. Adjusting the Toolchain"

gcc -dumpspecs | sed 's@^/lib/ld-linux.so.2@/tools&@g' \
> `dirname $(gcc -print-libgcc-file-name)`/specs
==>sed: can't read /mnt/lfs/tools/bin/../lib/gcc/i686-pc-linux-gnu/4.1.2/specs: no such file or directory

everything up to this point have been smooth sailing.
i dont know what gone wrong. please help

Did you copy and paste it like the book recommends?

i still have the same error
do i need to be in a particular diretory to run the command or not?
i retry it from the start twice and still get the same error
please help

You shouldn't I have just finished stages 1 & 2 without any problems at all.
Redo anything and litterly copy and paste command it tells you, if you still have error, download memtest86 and run it, you might have bad ram, or not enough ram what are your system specs?
