5.16 Coreutils-6.12

5.16 Coreutils-6.12

I get insecure dependency errors if I compile with lfs user, and the test fails. If I compile in root, everything looks good, including the test.
I'm not sure if there's a problem leaving the build compiled in root, being reliant on the host.

edit: after chown lfs /tools/bin...commands seem to work okay from lfs,
so maybe okay??

lfs should own the tools and source directory in chapter 5. When you create the lfs user in section 4.3, make that use the owner of $LFS/tools and $LFS/source. At the end of chapter 5, you'll change ownership of $LFS/tools to root. Sounds like you missed a step or two in section 4.
