'Linux From Scratch' is NOT a distro, it's a howto, Isn't it?

I'm confused.

If I read and follow the instructions laid out in the LFS books and I make my "own" distro, how can I be making a LFS distro?

Can anyone from this "Linux From Scratch" LQ.org forum answer that question for me please??
