Windows 2k3 DNS -> RHEL 5.1 BIND9

I have just been tasked with migrating our win 2k3 DNS server into Linux. I thought about just setting it up as a secondary to migrate the zone files over, however how would I populate the named.conf file? I have been advised to keep it all GUI (against my best wishes) and so I can't just create a basic text file. Anyone do this before ? Maybe have some suggestions on how to go about moving everything over? We probably have 100+ zone files to move.

Thanks!

Webmin has a bind dns module. I've never used it but it would resolve your GUI requirements.

Looks like theres a couple Different front ends you can use..

so is the BIND then going to be the authoritative DNS server for your Windows Active Directory domain ?

heh yeah, pretty cool, except i cant find a front end that speaks windows DNS better then activating AD in bind, which I have proposed, still waiting to see if it will be ok or not. Either way regardless of the front end I am concerned it will over write my hand written bind entries.

We'll see!!

Thanks guys for your help!
