what about an AS/400 5250 client emulation?

Hi all, I'm looking for an AS/400 5250 emulator, java or not....
I've found only the tn5250 (by sorceforge) but it has very few option, and the IBM emulator for Linux works only on the new iSeries (v5.1 and up).
I'm looking for somthing like ODBC too. I know the UnixODBC project but have not tried yet.

Thanx !!!!

yep, I googled various info but all I found is some software companies with not free emulator only. Well I know that this is a kinda software that maybe only business world need, but I think that if Linux wish to be appreciate from business it should be able to give more tools for them....
and even more: why Ibm that seems to go towards Linux don't give us these tools???

Sorry if I give off my chest.....

Well, IBM might have such software, but perhaps they don't distribute it for free? Remember that IBM is a corporation so their support of Linux isn't because they love free software, it's because they want to make money selling hardware that runs Linux and software that runs on Linux.

Most Linux programmers are hobbiests so it's really unlikely they would have a spare AS/400 lying around

There's a tn5250j program on sourceforge that's seperate from tn5250 - it's a Java based program.

Yep slacky I found it and installed, it function really well (not as windows IBM client access now but....)

I think this is an old question; free software is really good but Enterprise Linux always need commercial software too....
Maybe Linux world need mooore commercial software so....

i went to the following site and downloaded the iSeriesAcces for linux. Working Good!

http://www-1.ibm.com/servers/eserver.../access/linux/

don't forget to instal unixODBC if you don't have it. you can get to it from the IBM site.
