Very important ! How to read Linux Raid partition ?
How to read a Linux RAID partition without mounting raid or sth. I just want to read it and save the content. Already tried rebuild fstab from the first drive and this wiped out anything. LOL this is vital data for the company. No tries left for the second.
Even Windows tool would make the deal. Thanks. |
You probably want to use an imaging tool like dd.

Not at all. I just want to read the data on my Linux raid paritition, not the mirror mdX which doesn't exist anymore since the system is down on the crashed disk, but just the files that stay there on my Linux Raid partition alone without any system. I would have just to plug the disk into another box with linux running and read it, but I can't since Linux Raid partition is not readable except from being converted into a virtual Raid mdX partition. I didn't find any way to do that without erasing the data and getting a blank partition, all wiped out.

http://www.linuxquestions.org/rules.php and that's a seriously awful thread title too... |
