Spreadsheet to Database conversion

I have several Microsoft Works spreadsheets that I would like to convert to mySQL databases, is this possible, and are there any open source programs to do this on Linux or Windows?

I've only done a limited amount of database work, but I would guess you could export the Works spreadsheets as csv (comma separated values) data and then import it into mySQL.

The one gotcha I've had in my years is that Works files are useless without MS Works. I don't even think Excel can import them. I never figured out why Microsoft didn't at least allow for one way import from their cheap software to the more expensive...
