Hi guys,I need a program that does something like yum and apt on RHEL 4. Can you name some?I try to install yum but to no avail, updating python to a newer version is killing me. Please help.Thanks.
@reddaz,i already tried the link you suggested but can not run yum,I still need to update my python version.
You could just get yum from a centos mirror and test to see if it will install. If it doesn't rpm will list the missing dependencies which you can then get from the centos mirror.
There was a problem importing one of the Python modules
required to run yum. The error leading to this problem was:
/usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages/cElementTree.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Please install a package which provides this module, or
verify that the module is installed correctly.
It's possible that the above module doesn't match the
current version of Python, which is:
2.3.4 (#1, Feb 2 2005, 11:44:13)
[GCC 3.4.3 20041212 (Red Hat 3.4.3-9.EL4)]
If you cannot solve this problem yourself, please send this
message to <yum@lists.linux.duke.edu>.
