Unhappy Sendmail SMTP Client problem when no Internet.

I have configured SMTP client using sendmail. i.e. I poll to another server to fetch mails and my sendmail server sends mail to other remote server to deliver mails.

I am having problem that whenever my broadband connection goes down my sendmail server cannot resolve domains, so it doesn't accept mail from any mail client in it's queue. So a user doesn't come to know if it's mail is rejected.
I want my sendmail server to accept mails in it's queue though it cannot resolve. So user should not worry about sending out his mail. Whenever Broadband connection comes up sendmail will automatically deliver all mails which are residing in it's queue.

My sendmail version is 8.13.1-2 and OS is Redhat Enterprise Linux 4.

Please help me to solve this problem.
