RHEL4 CUPS print to script

Hello,

I am going to migrate from RHL7 to RHEL4.6.

Existing a printer setup to print to a shell script like:

extract from /etc/printcap
ebroker:\
:lp=/dev/null:\
:sd=/var/spool/ebroker:\
:full_time:\
:if=/home/ebroker/bin/bims2ebroker.sh:

RHEL4.6 change to use CUPS. Here is extracted from /etc/cups/printers.conf
<Printer ebroker>
Info
Location
DeviceURI file://home/ebroker/bin/bims2ebroker.sh
State Idle
Accepting Yes
JobSheets none none
QuotaPeriod 0
PageLimit 0
KLimit 0
</Printer>

It does not work. I never setup printer in Linux. Anyone could help me? Thanks.

This

http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/l...rs-config.html

should get you going. Since you're going to a supported version of RedHat, you can always call RedHat support, if you get stuck. The document above is for RHL8, but it should also apply for you.

Thanks. I solved it by installing LPRng.
