RHEL3 isn't able to detect Sata Hdd

Hi Friends,

Could you plz help me I am just fedup with RHEL3&4 with SATA HDD? I am trying to install RHEL3 or RHEL4 from last 3 weeks and i have gone through lots of fourm/tutorial but fail..

When i try to install RHEL3 or RHEL4 I get an error No Drive has been found. I have 160GB Seagate Barracuda HDD and I have VIA Mother borad with Onchip sata.

Plz plz help me... I will be grateful to you all.

Quickly googling, I find this

which seems to be someone having the same problems, and some indication that it might be a BIOS issue.

Some bios have some SATA different compatibility modes, some of which are more friendly than others.

Have you looked into the BIOS at all and made sure that it can see the drive?
