RHEL WS4 's Novell Connection Is it possible? Netware 5.00
Dear All users,
Thanks for your kind support continously. I have stuck with above problem. I have 5 to 10 machines which are not connected with our local Novell Netware 5.00 server because it has Red Hat Enterprise Linux Workstation 4 operating system and kernal version is 2.6.9-5EL.
There are no ncpfs and ipxutilities rpms in their Installation CD and we all are knows that if Novell Client installed this two utilities rpms are required in Linux for connection through Novell Client.
Please read both before starting, the IPX configuration is in the kernel already. You need to set the Network File Systems-->NCP file system support while using 'make menuconfig'.

One more Which Netscape Navigator is suitable with RHEL4 WS?
RHEL comes with a number of Internet Browsers, both seamonkey and firefox should be available on the media. The browser firefox should already be installed if you have the default GUI (Gnome) installed.

Then try using the mozilla rpm packages first found on the installation media. If you really want netscape (which is not supported by Red Hat) then visit;

Maybe, sorry I cannot answer in any further detail. You have not specified which ncpfs rpm package you have. The source ncpfs rpm should build both binary rpm packages. Do you have fairly modern version (2.2.4 or better) and any required dependencies installed.
If you have problems try the ipxutils and ncpfs binary rpms from Fedora Core 3 Updates;
