RHEL 4 Installing Hugemem kernel
I installed the hugemem kernel when I try to boot I get kernel panic error.
It seems the drives our not finding the processor or vice-versa This server is running on a SAS in a Raid 1 configuration I didn't modify the grub.conf file just yet, because I wanted to make sure the kernel would boot properly. I unpackaged and installed the rpm for the kernel Then I configured the SCSI: /sbin/mkinitrd /boot/initrd-2.6.9-11.img 2.6.9-11 Configured Grub: /etc/grub.conf grub-install --root-directory=/boot '/dev/sdb1' (I think thats where I went wrong) Now since I'm not using Lilo I dont have to update the MBr do I? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks |
