Recommend me a server

Hello all!

I was recently asked to come up with a proposal for a new file server. I've been searching around, and so far I've found that dell has the best option for my needs. I need at least the following

2.0 ghz processor
1 gig ddr ram
180 gigs of SCSI hd space with RAID 0 configuration
must be rack mounted
NIC,floppy,cdrom needed
RedHat ES 3.0 pre-installed would be nice (not necessary)

And thats about it, I have a budget of about 3000 dollars............so, anyone know of any lesser known sites a that specialize in linux servers?

Any and all information would be much appreciated!

http://monarchcomputersystems.com advertizes in the Linux Journal magazine.

I am buying some hardware from them currently. They will do linux installs on servers and workstations.

For a file server, I would recommend either a RAID 3 or RAID 5 configuration, and spread the data across three identical disks, i.e. 3 80 gig SCSI drives. This way, you achieve extrememly high data read/write transfer speeds, while maintaining system stability and integrity should one of the disks fail. At work, we run multiple file servers, most of which are running on a RAID 3 setup. Let me know how it works out...

Check out these two as well for a comparison. Basically you want to compare the hardware and the support/warranty options and see what fits your requirements.
