openssh upgrade on Red Hat machines

Hi
I have Red Hat virtual machines with Red Hat Enterprise Linux Server release 5.3 (Tikanga)
and I need to upgrade the current openssh version :
rpm -qa | grep openssh
openssh-4.3p2-29.el5
openssh-clients-4.3p2-29.el5
openssh-server-4.3p2-29.el5

to the latest openssh version for security reasons .
Can someone give me the full procedure on how to do it ?
Thanks
Shai

The latest update : openssh-4.3p2-72.el5_6.3 : Mar 28 2011.

The command # yum install openssh*

.. will also update to "-72.el5_6.3".

Hi,

updated version will be retrieved from Redhat Network, check your yum configuration files in /etc/yum.repos.d/

when running the yum list available command I am getting the following error :
This system is not registered with RHN.
RHN support will be disabled

I understand that its because this machine wasn't registered .

If I already downloaded manually the binary file openssh-4.3p2-72.el5_6.3.i386 can I use the yum command to upgrade online the current openssh version ?
Do I need to connect via console during this operation ?
BTW its a virtual machine with Red Hat on it .

Thanks
Shai

You're going to need all the files upgraded properly, you can't just dump a new binary in there.

Options

1. register with RHN
2. switch to CENTOS
3. setup up a local repo and download all the openssh (rpms) stuff to there and yum update from there.

In the long run 1. or 2. are the sane options; you don't want to be doing this manually for everything you've got installed ....

RHEL/Centos are now on 5.6, so you're a long way behind generally...
