Question Off line DB backup

HI, i need to take offline backup of database, so do i need to freeze the cluster service of linux before taking offline backup of database for oracle database?
Looking forward for your suggestion.

Not sure if you are using SAP or not but there are way too many options and implementations of Oracle.

Here is info on BRtools with SAP but would only apply if you were infact running that configuration.

Sounds like you need to read the documentation provided by oracle for your install.

This should work with (almost) every environment (as well with Oracle):

Shut it all down.
Take bitwise copies of all HDDs etc.
Boot it up again.

This a very general way. Oracle itself is something I let other people do, they probably know better.
