multiple squid server

Hi,

I am going to setup multiple squid server with load balancing.
Right now, I am having lots of local lan users who are getting internet
through one squid server. Now I want to configure multiple squid server
and want to load balance LAN users Internet request to multiple squid server .

Now my question is should I use a hardware load balancer before
all these multiple squid servers or can I achive this with any open source software tool ? If hardware load balancer, then can you suggest name of hardware load balancer which will act with multiple squid server ? Or any other open source software tool or from squid itself ?

Thanks in advance...........

Regards

personally i'd suggest a really nice and simple centrally held proxy.pac file to load balance, maybe using url hashing to load balance near perfectly. no additional services at all, just let the clients do the work themselves. easy.
