hi,

I try to install RHEL4 u3 on an IBM x330 servers with 2 18G scsi hard drives.

At partition windows I created same 6 partitions on each drive as follow and make software raid(raid1) based on them..

/ 3.5G
/boot 2G
/opt 3G
/usr 2G
/tmp 2G
/var 2G
swap 2G

then chose grub as boot loader and enabled SELinux..

after installtion and reboot, the system just hang with below info:

kjournald starting. Commit interval 5 seconds
EXT3-fs: mounted filesystem with ordered data mode.
pivotroot: pivot_root(/sysroot,/sysroot/initrd) failed: 2
umount /initrd/proc failed:2
Freeing unused kernal memory:164k freed
Kernel panic: No init found. Try passing init= option to kernel.


I can install RHEL4 on the server without software raid;
and I really made it to install RHEL3 of software raid with the same partitions info as above..

This is just a testing, what I've planned is to install RHEL4 of software raid on IBM x346 server.. But now I doubt if it can success.. so confused ............
