Looking for a well known and respected ecommerce package

I am setting up a ecommerce store for a company and would like to use an opensource package/module. I need something that is well known and respected from the open source community.

check out osCommerce and/or ZenCart

ZenCart is based off of osCommerce, but I think works a little better (did for me, anyway) for downloadable virtual product.
