Linux ready for Enterprise & Scalability

So our new DIT is bashing Linux saying it can't scale past 4 CPU's and isn't ready for E acceptance.

Rubbish of course. 2.4 Kernel had issues, but with NUMA and other things that was all fixed.

So I'm asking you guys to help me with my homework because now instead of innovating I have to do the DIT's job and produce empirical data that shows Linux is indeed E ready and scales just fine compared to the big iron.

Can you guys help me dig up the resources?

I would start with Red Hat(RHEL) and SUSE(SLES). They are the two largest enterprise linux companies. Start with their websites; they are likely to have benchmarks, testimonials, and information regarding how Linux is ready for the enterprise. Google for benchmarks as well.

Also, IBM is a big Linux supporter and they have many documents about Linux in scalability (probably).

Else: Google 'linux scalability'

And, just for fun, see this: http://readerszone.com/facts/linux-p...computers.html

Edit: here's an interesting article, show Linux growth, partly on the back of IBM Z/OS: http://practical-tech.com/infrastruc...keeps-growing/

Considering that Linux is gaining server market share while UNIX is losing it, that IBM is a big Linux supporter, and that Sun is losing record amounts of money, I think the answer should be obvious to anyone smarter than an amoeba.
