Linux in one person business


Am I allowed to use Linux legaly in a small business without paying something for it?

Just downloading an iso und using it legally?

You may use any of the distributions that are free for download. Some of them have different licensing and require you to buy the "Pro" or "Enterprise" edition, so if you were to say copy that CD from a friend or download from someone's site who posted it, that would be illegal, but that's a very rare situation. Just stick to main distribution sites that clearly state they're free.

Using Linux for a business doesn't have any additional implications over using it for personal tasks. Now if you're talking about altering the Linux kernel source (or the source of any other software that's distributed with the GPL), then you would have to be aware of the restrictions, but it doesn't sound like that's what you're trying to do.
