This isn't making much sence here, so I guess I need a bit more information.
You see, /etc/fstab is not normally the subject of a mount command...
So I guess I'll want the actual wording of that error please. I'll need to know more about your configuration and so on... which Red Hat Linux are you using? How did you partition the drives and what is the size of the partitions?
It is possible that, if you have less than 7Gb available, the all the partitions will be 100% used. The answer is to add new hard drives.
when I do: df -h I get:
Code:
$ df -h
Filesystem Size Used Avail Use% Mounted on
/dev/hdb1 73G 19G 51G 27% /
/dev/hda1 251M 21M 218M 9% /boot
/dev/shm 363M 0 363M 0% /dev/shm
/dev/hda3 2.8G 4.0K 2.8G 1% /usr/vfat
... this is a fairly typical redhat partition scheme, only there are two hard drives. hda1 is boot, hda2 is swap, hda3 is space which I have filled with a vfat partition - can't remember why - and the second drive, the big one, is devoted to root. As you can see, my system resources are woefully underused!
If you were to post your output, this may help clear things up.
Lastly - please edit your profile (My LQ > Edit Profile on the right of this page) to show your distribution and location (like mine, see left). I'm guessing english is not your first language...
Thank you.
