Question last command.

Hi,

can we increase the duration of last command, so that it will show login and logout of users for more duration?

for example:- if it is showing now 1 month, it will show 3 months.

also I would like to know apart from last command where OS will capture the data of login and logout?

see man last, and you will find: it uses the file /var/log/wtmp and -n to specify the number of lines to print
