kernel 2.6.9 framebuffer on EFI on IA-64

Hi all,
I've been trying to compile a customized 2.6.9 kernel for my IA64 architecture. The machine has an integrated Radeon 7000/ve. It boots well with the 2.4 kernel, which sends the output to the text console correctly; but it fails to do so with the 2.6.9 kernel. I saw from the kernel configuration menu (menuconfig) that the VESA VGA graphics support for the framebuffer is not available as it is on the 2.4 kernel config menu.

I'm connecting to the machine's MP (management processor), then by opening the console i try to boot from the efi boot manager. I'm not sure if this has to do with it, but it worked with the 2.4 kernel. I appended to the kernel label the console=ttyS0 option but still it doesn't outputs nothing.

Anyone please?

Same problem here

Hi, I think I have the same problem here.
I'm using kernel 2.6.14-rc2 and if I activate framebuffer support in kernel that kernel boots correctly but without an framebuffer.
Any ideas?
