installation problem

when I installing EL3 AS over ia64 machine
I got this error message when just passed cd material check

error 2 reading header : Cpio : Bad magic
running anaconda : the RedHat Enterprise Linux system installer please wait
exec of anaconda failed : Exec format errorinstall exited abnormally
Sending termination signals...done
sending kill signals ...done
disabling swap
unmounting filesystems
you may safely reboot your system.

what may course this error message?

...following on from *eddazz*, ensure that you ia64 system is on the HCL for EL3 AS
