How to modifying boot kernel in RHEL3.0 install CD

I have custom RHEL3.0 install CD with me. The CD has two kernels in it. the OS that the CD INSTALLS has a kernel with HP driver update already installed. The kernel that the CD BOOTS doesn't have this HP driver update hence this is not able to detect the RAID controller card on HP DL380 G4 hardware where as I am able to install OS using this CD on a different hardware other than HP DL380 G4 . Can any body let me know how to modify this boot kernel so that it can detect the RAID controller card while installing the OS.

Thanks in advance.

Hi. I don't know if your custom install CD allows it, but in general you should be able to use a driver disk. Most likely there should be a driver disk available for your HW. Possibly as an image on a CD that came with the HW, or from HP's web pages.
If you create that driver disk and your boot CD supports it you should be able to load the driver by typing "linux dd" on your boot prompt. Hope this helps.

Hi. Thanks for your information.
I know by using linux dd at the boot prompt it will ask for the driver disk and then we can continue with the installtion, but I don't want it in that way. I wanted to add this driver in the installtion CD itself so that I will not prompt for the driver disk.
