Hi, to use RHEL properly you need a maintenance contract with RedHat. The best plan would be to ask RedHat how to go about the migration process. If you don't have a contract with them now would be a good time to begin the conversation

In addition, since RedHat does not have an in place upgrade path from version 5.x to 6.x I would expect them to suggest a complete reinstall.

I'd set up a test bed. Not sure I'd migrate it exactly. I'd build my test 7 systems and then when I think it works, copy of the data bases and restart them on the new systems.

Red Hat does have plenty of support and may be able to provide a path that has minimal impact. It is a pretty big jump. A lot has changed.

Guess you could look at Oracle's Linux and use it with support.

If I'm doing complete reinstall of operating system, how the applications to be works as it is existing OS?.
What are all the parameters need to check while deploying the application on newly installed servers?

These are the sorts of questions that you need to ask RedHat.

Your going to have to rip and replace the RHEL and also move from an older version of Oracle (I suspect your running 11G to Oracle 12c).

We have a test environment we we setup test systems, throw test data on it, observe the results and go from there.

Are these physical or virtual servers?

Support for RHEL5 ends on 31 March 2017.
