GPL Licensing issue for PCLINUXOS live cd : corporate environment
 

I am planning to customize live cd to be used for INTERNET kiosk in my organization. The CD that I will be using is:
PCLINUXOS (http://www.pclinuxos.com/)

I am planning to remove certain applications like multimedia/file sharing clients etc, and the PC shall be used only for browsing purposes.

I would be obliged anyone could help that:
(i) Whether commercial usage of this CD, in this manner is allowed or not.
(ii)I think that entire iso is available under GPL, however some individual components may not be for e.g. firefox etc.

Please Help, also provide supporting evidences if any.

Firefox is under the Mozilla license, which is less restrictive than the GPL. There is no issue with distributing it.

I know that firefox, open-office can be use commercially, what I am more concerned is, about using the CD as a whole, with no modifications to the source; just removing certain applications and cusomzing others,i.e, to the extent provided by the front-end of these applications without modifying the source, for e.g. changing the configurations.

You can pretty much do whatever the GPL/MPL/LGPL/etc. for the various packages allow. As far as what it looks like you might want to do (fork off with your own distro) you can recompile (or possibly take binaries of certain) packages, but you will likely have to remove all trademarks, etc. for PCLinuxOS.

Thanks for all the help, however I dont think that if I simply remove certain packages and then remaster PCLinuxOS, I am building a new Distro;
In fact the credit still goes to PclinuxOS and if I change Distro name, it won't be fair.
Since they themselves provide remastering scripts to build off a customzie distributions, I don't think there would any copyright involved, if I keep the same distro name.
