display failed login script

Hi,

can someone pass me a script to display failed login attempts when a user logs in.
RHEL ES 3 is the version used.

Thanks in advance.

To see all failed login attempts use command:

Code:
touch /var/log/btmp
lastb
touch will create file (if not exists) which stores failed login attempts and lastb command will show you all those failed login attempts.

OR some distro might use following command as well:

Code:
faillog
You may need to enable pam_tally.so PAM module, for more control.

No need of script for such small job
