/dev/mapper/ is not showing alias name defined in multipath.conf file

I have made rescan of HBA to find new LUNS fr a Linux Server
After rescan multipath -ll give me:

mpath18 (360060e80164d190000014d19000005) dm-5 HP,OPEN-V
[size=10G][features=1 queue_if_no_path][hwhandler=0][rw]
\_ round-robin 0 [prio=2][enabled]
\_ 4:0:1:2 sdk 8:160 [active][ready]
\_ 5:0:1:2 sdo 8:224 [active][ready]
mpath17 (360060e80164d190000014d19000006) dm-6 HP,OPEN-V
[size=10G][features=1 queue_if_no_path][hwhandler=0][rw]
\_ round-robin 0 [prio=2][enabled]
\_ 4:0:1:1 sdj 8:144 [active][ready]
\_ 5:0:1:1 sdn 8:208 [active][ready]
mpath16 (360060e80164d190000014d19000007) dm-7 HP,OPEN-V-CM
[size=10G][features=1 queue_if_no_path][hwhandler=0][rw]
\_ round-robin 0 [prio=2][enabled]
\_ 4:0:1:0 sdi 8:128 [active][ready]
\_ 5:0:1:0 sdm 8:192 [active][ready]

I have made setup to multipath.conf to assign alias to mpath5,6,7

multipath {
wwid 360060e80164d190000014d19000006
alias mpath6
}
multipath {
wwid 360060e80164d190000014d19000005
alias mpath5
}
multipath {
wwid 360060e80164d190000014d19000007
alias mpath7
}

After multipath -r and multipath restart i have

mpath5 (360060e80164d190000014d19000005) dm-5 HP,OPEN-V
[size=10G][features=1 queue_if_no_path][hwhandler=0][rw]
\_ round-robin 0 [prio=2][enabled]
\_ 4:0:1:2 sdk 8:160 [active][ready]
\_ 5:0:1:2 sdo 8:224 [active][ready]
mpath6 (360060e80164d190000014d19000006) dm-6 HP,OPEN-V
[size=10G][features=1 queue_if_no_path][hwhandler=0][rw]
\_ round-robin 0 [prio=2][enabled]
\_ 4:0:1:1 sdj 8:144 [active][ready]
\_ 5:0:1:1 sdn 8:208 [active][ready]
mpath7 (360060e80164d190000014d19000007) dm-7 HP,OPEN-V-CM
[size=10G][features=1 queue_if_no_path][hwhandler=0][rw]
\_ round-robin 0 [prio=2][enabled]
\_ 4:0:1:0 sdi 8:128 [active][ready]
\_ 5:0:1:0 sdm 8:192 [active][ready]

but in /dev/mapper i have

mpath17 -> ../dm-7
mpath17 -> ../dm-6
mpath18 -> ../dm-5

If you change the alias to another number, does it prefix the 1?

Although "mpath" is not reserved word here, but it is not convenient to use it.
Select another name for alias. oradbs1 is good example. It show it's purpose and did not mess with other names.

All the multipath sections need to be under a multipaths section like so:

multipaths {
multipath {
wwid 360060e80164d190000014d19000006
alias mpath6
}
multipath {
wwid 360060e80164d190000014d19000005
alias mpath5
}
multipath {
wwid 360060e80164d190000014d19000007
alias mpath7
}
}
