What are the differences of rootfs and initramfs?
 
Hi,

What are the differences of rootfs and initramfs in terms of behavior and functionality as both are going to have the same content but in different format?

A rootfs id the hard disk install of your system. Until that disk is mounted there is only the kernel in memory. If that is short on kernel modules, there is an initrd or initramfs mounted on / which has what's missing. This vanishes when the rootfs is mounted on /
