Video : Review Atomic Pi - Cheapest X86 SBC

Hi all.
I've made a new review video about the Atomic Pi.
It has an Intel Atom x5-Z8350 quad-core clocked at 1.67Ghz and 2GB DDR3 ram. And it costs less than $40.

It is amazing for its price. It runs Windows 10 fine.
I'm even using it to build Linux images for my SBC's. It does great.

Nice review! I’ve seen desktops with windows 10 that are slower ��

Might need to get one to replace my raspberry pi for emulation, as it sometimes gets bogged down.

You are welcome.
For the price it's amazing. But don't expect miracles of it.
It will not do much better than the raspberry pi 3b in emulation.

These were menth to go into the Kuri robot. But that got canceled before they were shipped.
So they've been sold in bulk by thousands. It never was menth to be an Atomic Pi. That's just a sales trick that worked well

You don’t think x86 will offer better game emulation over ARM?

It will give better compatibillity with more games. But it isn't that much more powerful than the raspberry pi 3b.
Biggest advantage is all graphics drivers are available for it.

For the lighter consoles up to N64 and PSX it'll be ok. Most PSP games work ok, but not great.
PS2 is out of the question.

I can imagine the drivers on x86 help.

Yeah I don't go past N64. But even on the raspberry pi SNES games sometimes lag for a second from time to time. N64 doesn't run well enough for me to play through a game such as Zelda.

Either way, if it doesn't work better for emulation I can certainly find another use for it!
