Unlimited display on the ordered board, what should I do?

Hello everyone, I ordered a xilinx zynq single board computer, the Z-turn board, But I find it has limitation on display, I asked their engineers and they told me that this board is using xylon trial version IP and can only work within 30 minutes after booted, I need to buy the license of the IP core, but I think the license price is pretty high, is it possible to develop the IP core by myself? Any good suggestions?

Your other forum post suggested this.
"Silicon Image HDMI chip "
From there, you'd need to go forward.

This makes little sense really. http://www.myirtech.com/faq_list.asp?id=543 Should just way we didn't deliver any free driver.

I assume you mean output of video not input of video. https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/xylon...s-gordan-galic

Some folks seem to be able to whip out a driver with ease. It isn't an easy task usually if you don't have spec's. You make a lot of guesses and hope you don't burn out your board was the old way.

It may be possible that SI would provide clues to their chip. Some companies offer nda to developers who can assist their products.

It is possible that a very similar chip is already being supported and some adjustments to the source would provide a driver.

At one time ndiswrapper was supposed to be a way to use any windows driver but that work never finished.

This spec sheet on the section about the HDMI driver says "Source code provided"

http://www.myirtech.com/download/Zyn...-turnBoard.pdf

Seems to me that they lied in their spec sheet and happen to have a convenient link in their FAQ that says some obtuse detail which doesn't seem relevant.

True HDMI does have some restrictions because you have to limit things like the quality so that people can't rip a DVD and get a full HDMI video from it. But throw away the whole "IP" statement and my bottom line is I get something like a Raspberry Pi and hook an HDMI monitor up to it, it works, and continues to work so I can see the desktop of my distribution.

A. Call them and tell them to take the product back and that you no longer want it given that they seem to have misrepresented the capabilities of this product.
B. If they are unresponsive, you can only go so far with it, in my opinion.

My read on their spec sheet is that this thing should absolutely run Ubuntu 12.04 Desktop
