The RPi3B/RPi3B+ thread

Trying to find info on here about these particular boards is quite difficult, as is trying to find info of desktop/server usage of them on the official forums, so I thought maybe we could try & keep all the info together in this one thread.

I have 2x RPi3B & 1x RPi3B+ which I mainly use as desktop substitutes.

I noticed quite an improvement using wifi & the internet when I got my RPi3B+ because it connected using 5GHz.

I have mine all booting from USB, one of which is being powered from a powered USB hub, which is run from a SSD, the others, I use testing out various other distros & BSDs on pendrives.

Unfortunately, neither of my preferred O/S have a suitable system available for them yet, so I tend to use Raspbian in the main.

What distros are you finding useful on them?

I use only different variants of raspbian.
Do you have some kind of case (like this: https://www.hifiberry.com/shop/cases...ushed-cover-2/).
That makes the internal wifi useless on RPi3B.

I have 2 cases that just house the board, they look a bit like those, but mine are plastic.

I also have one that has space for a SSD under the board, in the same case.
