servlet permission issue on SB computer running tomcat container
I wrote a servlet in java for controlling hardware remotely.
The servlet resides in a tomcat server running on a embedded linux board.
In this servlet I'm importing a class library that needs to make some system calls.
When I test my servlet I get a "permission denied" error regarding those calls.
How can I run my servlet with root permission or is there a better/safer way to handle this?
I'm thinking to write a second app that communicates with the servlet through sockets. This should be much safer.
Still waiting for some advice!
I did a 'work around' with sockets, which solved my problem.
I'm still wondering why I got no answers or suggestions.. Can someone tell why? I'm just a newbie and eager to learn.
