raspbian: newbie questions. FAT16 on the SD and error on boot
hello,
1. I installed raspbian and see now on the SD card a fat16 partition (a fat32 was on the whole SD card before the ionstallation). Is it not a bit curious? raspbian is creating a fat16 during installation? 2. the dmesg of my raspberry indicate: .. [ 29.101048] FAT-fs (mmcblk0p1): Volume was not properly unmounted. Some data may be corrupt. Please run fsck. .. How to delete that message? |
I'd say redownload (incase corrupt plus it's small) wipe the SD so no partitions (using Disk Utility) then use the dd command from here: http://elinux.org/RPi_Easy_SD_Card_Setup starting at the middle of the page or so: "Using system tools (mostly graphical interface,)" best wishes and have fun. :)

1. nothing to do. a FAT16 is part of the system.
2. ok. It comes up when the shutdown "sudo shutdown -h 0" was not done before the power is switched off. A new "dd" make a new install and it is gone. In the main time, it seems this error message is not disturbing the system |
