raspbian module loading problem

I'm trying to get an ITDB28 tft display working on a Model B. If I load the fbtft module manually, I can get text on the display after I use con2fbmap. If I use /etc/modules to load the module, I get nothing.

I login using ssh.

Manual command:
Code:
modprobe fbtft_device name=itdb28 gpios=reset:7,dc:2,wr:3,cs:8,db00:17,db01:18,db02:27,db03:22,db04:23,db05:24,db06:25,db07:4 rotate=270
The display goes dark, and "con2fbmap 1 1" yields a login prompt on the ITDB28.

dmesg output:
Code:

[ 44.275696] graphics fb1: fb_ili9325 frame buffer, 320x240, 150 KiB video memory, 4 KiB DMA buffer memory, fps=20
When I try to use /etc/modules to load the module, the screen backlight stays on, and nothing is seen when I run "con2fbmap 1 1."

/etc/modules:
Code:
# /etc/modules: kernel modules to load at boot time.
#
# This file contains the names of kernel modules that should be loaded
# at boot time, one per line. Lines beginning with "#" are ignored.
# Parameters can be specified after the module name.
