• Operating System Interface Layer: JoinTech JTOS
• Processor: 400 MHz (samsung arm925)
• On Board OS Storage: Nand Flash 64 MB
• RAM: 64 MB
• External Storage: TF Card 2/4 GB.
• USB Ports: Host: 1 Device: 1
• Audio: Built in Speaker/ Audio Out

hmm, with those specs you MIGHT be able to get uclinux to run on it, but it might be more trouble than it's worth
can't help much though without the exact make/model of your unit

That makes it NOT a PPC. I am using hardware in this general class, and it works well for embedded applications, running Linux. You'll probably have to roll your own for a lot of the system. The toughest part might be loading a bootloader.

I have no idea what this means or what implications it has for installing Linux. Maybe it is or includes some kind of bootloader.

Which one what? Hardware I use is from the Technologics Systems product line, and they provide a supported Linux OS, which I've customized for my applications. It is used in a machine control system.
