Playing SD video on ARM9 based SBC

Hi,

I need to play videos on a ARM9 based SBC. The output is through a VGA port. The vidoes are only standard definition, not HD

I need a software to do this. What file to play will be decided by a program written in C. The software used will have to be called from the C program.

The codec choice is open. Any codec will do - however since its an embedded system processing multiple inputs, a low overhead codec/software is preferred.

I will appreciate it if I can give some pointers for the same

Have a look at MPlayer because it answers all your questions. It may not be in the programming language that you are looking for, but it gives you an idea of the steps involve to playback media.

BTW, it feels you want me or others do the work for you. Please next time do the research on your own. If you are confuse on a certain topic, then you can ask. It seems this is a homework question than a question that you are confused
