Pi 3 Debian Install

Me scratching head. Debian has ARMv8 ISO image. AFAIK Pi cannot boot from USB, SD only. How can I install Debian to the SD card, there is only one SD card reader?
Oh, should I put ISO on SD, boot, install Debian to the USB stick, dd it over to the SD card? Would that work?

What you are looking for is Raspbian. It is the officially supported operating system for RPi. Raspbian is Debian with all the right drivers already added to the system. Raspbian also has many tweaks that optimize it for Rpi.

Download Raspbian

In case you run into difficulty with Raspbian, you could try out the NOOBS image instead. NOOBS comes with all the required software to get your Pi up and running in 10-20 minutes as a desktop machine.

Installation Guide

There is a million guides on the internet about anything you wish to do with your Pi. Google is your friend.

The image for the Raspberry pi 3 is the arm architecture with 64 bit capability. All of the original images were 32bit. If you look up the design information for the Pi 3 you will understand the difference between the Pi2 and Pi3 hardware. I don't know the exact details because I do not own a Pi 3. You should consider reading the raspberry pi web site instead of asking blind questions on LQ. All the information you need is on the Rpi web site.
